Won’t you please, please tell me what we’ve learned
Getting ready for an upcoming trip. All the personal products I use - shampoo, deodorant, soap, etc - have to be fragrance free. I can’t buy most of them at the local grocery store. I have to go to Whole Foods for most, some I have to order. In the past, I’ve always carried all these items on the airplane with me. But that’s no longer an option, since they won’t all fit in a 1 quart zip lock bag.
The airlines and TSA suggest that you put these items in your checked baggage. OK. But I have to consider the possibility of my luggage getting lost, or picked up by someone else. Then what do I do? Since we’re going to see family, I had somewhere that I could mail these items.
At the post office, the clerk asks “Is anything in here liquid, breakable or explosive?” I say “Yes, there’s shampoo and other liquids.” So he tells me that the package has to go ground, it can’t go in an airplane.
But, what about what the airlines and TSA are telling me. Once again I’m reminded that you cannot be logical in our modern world.
