Well, if the Beatles had waited until today, that’s how the song would have started. I’ve known in my mind that the Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band album had to be approaching 40 years old. Turns out, today is the day. June 1, 1967 the album was first introduced in the UK.
I can hardly believe it. And it makes me feel old. Just to think that I remember back 40 years! I was not quite 13 then, and we were at Clark Air Base in the Philippines. We had just gotten there.
I’m not sure when the album made it to the Philippines. In those days it generally took 6 months for music released in the States to make it to Clark AB. I imagine today, with the internet, it would be instantaneous.
